Description:
Painting of a view on the Second Welland canal, circa 1860, the artist is Charles E. Clark. The painting shows a tall ship with its sails down being pulled by a steam boat through a body of water. The water is a light blue and green colour, and the sky is green, yellow, and purple. The bank of the canal looks like an ordinary bank. The painting is framed in a wooden frame that has gold accents around it, especially in the corners. On the back of the frame there is a piece of paper which says 'A view on the Second Welland Canal, circa 1860. No 2.'The painting has been signed by Charles E. Clark in the bottom left—hand corner.
