Culture Days – NFB Films

September 26 @ 6:00 pm 9:00 pm

Join the Welland Museum as we screen two films from the National Film Board of Canada (NFB).

The featured films are Six Miles Deep and Honour to Senator Murray.

Six Miles Deep is a short documentary offering a portrait of a group of women who led their community, the largest reserve in Canada, Six Nations of the Grand River Reserve, in an historic blockade to protect their land.

Honour to Senator Murray tells the story of Senator Sinclair, the Chair of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. With determination, wisdom and kindness, Senator Sinclair remains steadfast in his belief that the path to actual reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people requires understanding and accepting often difficult truths about Canada’s past and present.
